Trans Bloom

is an intergenerational trans and BIPOC-centered cultural hub dedicated to healing through creativity and connection. We create programming – organizing retreats, artist residencies, community events, and land stewardship – to strengthen community resilience, foster meaningful relationships with nature, and promote joy.

Upcoming Events

  • Understories: Generative Writing + Outdoor Mindfulness

    5/24 | 3-5 pm

    Led by Lexington Lawson

What do we hear when we truly listen to the trees? Join us for a generative writing session focused on the art of writing with nature through poetry, creative non-fiction, and dramedy storytelling.

  • Bone Assembly as Advocacy

    5/31 | 3-6 pm

    Led by Tatum Starr

Let’s allow ourselves to resonate with the impact, viewing life through the lens of another being, and restoring kinship by connecting with and honoring the bones of animal relatives, transforming their deaths into beautiful arrangements and sculptures that give insight into our shared lived experiences.

  • Solar Printmaking

    Sept 5-7th | 3-6pm

    Led by Wilder Herbertson

Come play with the literal forest magic of lichen! use your creativity and aesthetic sense to incorporate objects you bring from home and/or natural objects from the land, such as leaves, flowers, lichens, and more, into our sky-blue art pieces.

  • Understories: Revision + Movement + Mindfulness

    6/14 | 3-5 pm

    Led by Lexington Lawson

This session moves beyond the red pen, using movement and mindfulness to explore how our creative workβ€”like barkβ€”protects, stretches, and evolves.

  • Queer Ecologies Exhibition

    8/1-8/30 | Ukiah, CA

Queer Ecologies is a multidisciplinary art exhibition and learning series exploring the relationships between land, identity, and liberation.  What can queer relationships to land teach us about survival and care? How do our bodies and histories connect to the natural world? What does it mean to live beyond rigid boxes?

β€œI remember being incredibly suicidal before the election... After Mx. Artist and watching Major!, I am still fearful, but I definitely want to fight this. I felt more present in my body than I have in a long time. I truly believe [this community] is saving my life.”

– Mx. Artist Participant
