Residencies

We invite you to pause, play, and imagine new worlds. Unstructured timeโ€”away from the noise of urgency and extractive systemsโ€”makes space for healing, vision, and transformation. Our residencies offer trans and BIPOC artists, organizers, and cultural workers space to reconnect with your creative rhythms, your purpose, and the natural world. Whether you're developing a new body of work, taking a sabbatical from organizing, or simply catching your breath, you're welcome here.

๐ŸŒฟ Two Ways to Bloom

We offer two kinds of residencies, and youโ€™re welcome to flow between them. We're here to co-create a meaningful experience that supports your vision. You donโ€™t need to produce anything unless you want to. We trust that rest and imagination are valuable on their own.

Rest-Focused: Quiet, restorative time to slow down and soften. This is a space for tending to yourself without expectations. Float in the pool (opening May), nap under the oaks, or visit nearby sites (hot springs, redwoods, lakes, or the coast).

Work-Focused: Dedicated time and space to build or create, away from daily demands. Film, record, sculpt, or write among the trees. Work on large-scale projects or noisy experimentsโ€”no neighbors to worry about. Develop your organization or campaign with support from trans-led experts in fundraising, storytelling, and infrastructure.

๐ŸŒป Whatโ€™s Included

Each residency offers up to a week of free lodging and care on our 32-acre campus, two hours north of the Bay Area.

Youโ€™ll have access to:

  • A private 12x24 ft live/work studio with a bed, closet, standing desk, whiteboard, some art supplies (acrylic paints, colored pencils, etc.), and some AV equipment (mics, lights, speaker, projector, etc.)

  • Shared kitchen, bathroom, and living room with projector

  • Outdoor rec area: fire pit, grill, lounge, pool, and spa

  • 20 acres of oak woodland with rough trails and a seasonal creek (Jan-May)

We provide:

  • Up to two nourishing, family-style meals per day (tailored to your dietary needs)

  • Grocery support if you prefer to cook for yourself

  • Planning support for day trips to local gems: Lake Mendocino, Orr Hot Springs, coastal trails, and more

  • Optional creative/project support: grant writing, marketing, storytelling, or documentation

  • Optional local connections with healers, nature educators, and other community members

๐ŸŒฑ Mutual Agreements

  • Contribute to and share two posts about your residency:

    1. An intro post with your bio and creative focus

    2. A casual in-progress video, photo, or moment during your stay

  • Help keep shared spaces clean and care for the land as it cares for you.

  • If you schedule a public offering or session, we ask that you follow through with clarity and integrity.

  • If you're inspired to give back to the landโ€”whether by planting, clearing trails, or sharing your skillsโ€”weโ€™d love to hear your ideas.
